Claire’s passion for animals has taken her through nearly every corner of animal care. She began her career as the Intake and Adoption Manager at a high-volume, no-kill shelter, where she helped countless animals find their way to loving homes. From there, she moved into veterinary medicine, spending several years as a supervisor at an overnight emergency clinic, a role that sharpened her ability to stay calm and caring in high-pressure moments. She later earned her Animal Control Officer certification and worked in animal protection, advocating for animals in her community.
After relocating to Newport News, Claire joined Grafton Animal Hospital, eager to broaden her experience and deepen her knowledge of exotic animal medicine and care. Her well-rounded background in shelter work, emergency medicine, and animal protection makes her a valuable member of our team and a reassuring presence for pets and their families alike.
