Dr. Gross - Veterinarian in Yorktown, Grafton Animal Hospital

Dr. Gross – Lead Veterinarian

Dr. Gross is a 1983 graduate of Auburn University where he obtained a BS degree in zoology and a D.V.M. degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine. Upon graduation he moved into the Dare/Grafton area of York County. From 1983-1984, he was a full time associate in a small animal practice in Newport News. From 1984-1986 he worked at a 24 hour veterinary hospital in Richmond, gaining experience in emergency as well as outpatient medical practice. From 1986-1994 he worked as a “relief” veterinarian for over a dozen practices between Chesapeake and Richmond. In March of 1994 he opened Grafton Animal Hospital.

In addition to small animal medicine, Dr. Gross has a special interest in Avian (bird) and small exotic medicine (rabbits, guinea pigs hamsters, etc.).

Outside of work, Dr. Gross is an avid bicycle enthusiast, riding long distance road bike rides in the summer, and mountain bikes in he winter. His pets Ricky, Luke, Duke and Daisy are listed here as part of our staff!

Dr. Laura Raiff

Dr. Laura Raiff is a graduate of the University of Missouri – College of Veterinary Medicine. Following graduation she completed an emergency and specialty medicine internship at VCA Emergency Animal Hospital and Referral Center in San Diego. She enjoys ophthalmology and has a special interest in avian medicine. Her hobbies include hiking, running, and spending time outdoors. She is the proud parent of 2 parrotlets – Yadi and Neeko.

Dr. Jennifer Moore

Dr. Jennifer Moore joined Grafton Animal Hospital in June 2017. Originally from Chesterfield, VA, she attended Old Dominion University and earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. She is a 2017 graduate of Virginia Tech for Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Moore gained a great deal of surgical and dental experience through her work with Helping Hands. She has a special interest in surgery as well as treating small exotic mammals.

In her free time, Dr. Moore enjoys just being outside and working on projects, especially fixing up her Mazda Miata. She also loves to spend time with her family by the lake and her 5-year old Australian Shepherd, Rigby.
