Unless you have been living under a rock for the last few years, you have probably at least once been inconvenienced by the road work that is underway on Highway 17. We knew that one day the construction would move closer to Grafton Animal Hospital. Earlier this week, almost with no warning, I found myself merging into a single lane with many other cars just to get into the parking lot. That day is finally upon us.
We know the V-DOT crews are doing a great job and trying to get the work done as quickly as possible. It’s something we will just have to deal with for a year or so until the work is complete. At least we know that when it opens back up, it will be 3 lanes of beautifully paved road.
Grafton Animal Hospital is also starting to get into its busiest time of year. We know that the road construction is going to create some headaches for our clients. We want to help you try to reduce the stress of your visit. Here are a few things to remember:
1. We ask that all drop off pets be here between 7 and 8 am, and that those pets are picked before our closing time at 6 pm Monday through Friday. We are only here until 1 pm on Saturdays.
2. There are no set times for boarding pets to be dropped off but we do ask that they are here by 5 pm on weekdays and by 12 noon on Saturdays. This allows us time to get the pets settled, be fed and go potty before we leave for the night.
- For scheduled appointments with a veterinarian, we ask that you arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. If you are a new client or have a new patient, please arrive 15 minutes before. If you are late for your appointment, we will do our best to still see your pet when you get here. But if the schedule is full, we may have to ask you to reschedule. If you know you will be late, please give us a call as we may be able to rearrange the schedule to accommodate everyone.
The construction is going to be a thorn in our sides for a while but we will make the best of the situation.
