Dog Grooming

Accepting Clients from Newport News & Beyond

Grafton Animal Hospital offers professional dog grooming to keep the pups of Yorktown looking and feeling their best. Professional grooming is offered throughout the week and includes simple bathing as well as specialized breed clips.

Our grooming department features the skills of our professional groomer, Cierra DeHart. The grooming process begins with the “roughing in,” followed by a bath, pedicure, and blow dry. Then comes the final “finishing,” where the styles are perfected, with ears and tails brushed and trimmed. Amazingly, those pets who have undergone this gentle transformation leave with their heads high and tails wagging as if they KNOW they look great!

Grooming Policy

All grooming dogs must have had an exam within the last 12 months and have a current rabies vaccine. Additionally, dogs must be up-to-date on their distemper/parvo and Bordetella vaccines. Dogs that have not had an intestinal parasite screen (aka fecal test) done within the last 12 months, will have one performed while they board with us, at the owner’s expense.

All grooming pets must have documented proof of current vaccine and parasite control status. Your dog should be dropped off between 7:00 and 10:00 am on the day of their appointment. We will call or text you when your pet is ready to be picked up. If you need to cancel a grooming appointment, we ask that you do so within 48 hours of the scheduled drop-off time.

*Pickup hours may vary depending on volume and the complexity of the groom. Please give us a call before picking up your pet to ensure their grooming is complete.
