Planning a trip for the Memorial Day weekend?

Grafton Animal Hospital offers boarding, and we still have plenty of space for this coming weekend.  The weather man is finally calling for some sunshine, so it would be a great weekend to visit family, go camping, or visit one of the many beautiful parks in Virginia.  If your travels do not allow you to take your pet along, consider allowing them to camp with us for a few days.  Here’s why you should board your pets with us if you need to travel:

1.  We have lots of options for all sizes of dogs, condos for cats, and we even board your exotic pets such as birds, guinea pigs, ferrets and rabbits.  If you have multiple pets (of the same species), they can usually board together and dogs can go outside together for play.  We charge by the facility, not by the pet’s weight, so if you want to board your 10 pound dog in our largest facility, you can certainly do that.

2.  We offer a lot of extras with our boarding fees.  We include a quality Hill’s Science Diet dry diet for any dog or cat that stays with us.  Of course, you may bring your own food if you wish.  We will include a comfort cushion for your pet and give him/her a complimentary bath if staying for more than 5 nights.  If your pet needs any vaccines, a check-up with the doctor, medications to be given, doggy daycare, or grooming, we can take care of that during the boarding visit (for a small fee) so you don’t have to make an extra trip.

3.  Your pet’s safety and health are very important to us.  We use an observation sheet to keep track of how much your pet eats while here and any abnormalities that we see.  We check your pet’s weight every few days as well.  Our trained staff knows to report abnormalities to the veterinarian on duty to prevent any problems.  Our kennel is fully alarmed for fire and burglary and monitored by a central station.  We also have security cameras throughout the building for everyone’s safety.

So if you decide that a weekend getaway is in your future, stop by during our regular business hours for a tour of our kennel or set up your reservation by calling 898-8433.  Have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
