I had the pleasure of attending a dress sale for Gowns for Hounds on Saturday, November 1st. It was a little black dress sale. Lesa and her “Butlerettes” had 200 black dresses nicely sorted by size on racks. So many dresses; so little time. The event was sponsored by Dr. Lisa Marie Samaha of Port Warwick Dental Arts who provided a beautiful venue for the event.
I’m happy to say that I purchased 2 evening gowns, including the one in this picture. I spent far less that I would have for 1 brand new gown and was emailed a receipt to report my charitable donation on my taxes. The best part: Lesa emailed me Monday morning to say that we built our account back us so that we can help more pets in the near future.
Recently, Gown for Hounds helped a single mom with an injured sugar glider named Pip Squeek. Yes, Gowns for Hounds is available to help all types of pets, not just the hounds. Pip Squeek and his mom are happy to have found this great group.
As of now, the next dress sale is scheduled for March 13th and 14th at Warwick High School in time for prom season. Lesa and I spoke about the possibility of having a holiday dress event but nothing is finalized yet. We will always have information about future events on our Facebook page and website, or visit www.gownsforhounds.org for more details. Thank you again to the ladies at Gowns for Hounds for a great event and helping those in need.
